The Waterloo Region Record Newspapers in Education (NiE) programs’ aim is to connect young people to current affairs with local news.

Newspapers in Education allows teachers to use the newspaper as a unique teaching aid in the classroom that engages elementary and secondary students with local and worldwide events.
NiE provides several programs to all educational sectors across the Waterloo Region including Private, Public, Catholic and Language schools. In addition to the newspapers, NiE provides curriculum guides and supplemental programs.

Your daily newspaper, with all of its features, is a flexible and adaptable “living textbook” that can be used in virtually every teaching situation.

With a teacher’s guidance, a newspaper can play an important role in educating children and involving them in their community.
